SOLAR VIEJO
Wines with personality from La Rioja
The Solar Viejo winery has been located, since 1969, in the village of Laguardia, on the way to the village of Hoja where there are prehistoric remains dating back to 1500 BC.
In the Rioja Alavesa region, the climate is predominantly continental with Mediterranean influences from the river Ebro. The Cantabrian mountain range protects these “Tierras Rojas” from the cold, wet northern winds, in such a way that they enjoy an optimal microclimate for growing vines.
This winery has an excellent relationship and collaboration with the region’s farmers, which ensures the best quality grapes in the region.
“In the medieval village of Laguardia the Solar Viejo winery was built in 1969 after several decades in a manor house within the village itself.”
